TNT Athlete of Year plans to walk on at WSU

FEDERAL WAY'S Isaiah Diggs was having a tough time getting noticed by college coaches during his prep football career. Racking up 1,998 all-purpose yards last fall during his senior season at Decatur High didn't move the needle. Diggs, however, may have found a home as a walk on at Washington State, the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

The problem is size. Diggs is not quite 5-6, and weighs 160-pounds.

Diggs was named the The News Tribune’s 2014-15 Male Senior Athlete of the Year for his play on the football field, three state wrestling medals, reaching the state track and field championships and earning a 3.56 grade-point average.

On the football field he lined up his senior year at receiver, running back, defensive back, kick returner and quarterback.
