Absent from depth chart, Farrar to transfer

THE POST-SPRING depth chart released back in May by Washington State did not list defensive back Jeff Farrar in the two-deeps at either corner, nickel or safety. It doesn’t figure to be long before his name is no longer on the official WSU roster either.

Jeff Farrar told huskeronline.com he has received his release from WSU and is transferring, with Nebraska a possible landing spot. Former longtime Oregon State coach Mike Riley is now the head man at Nebraska.

Larue's name still appears on the official WSU roster though that is likely because the transfer paperwork is still going through the system.

Farrar is the fourth cornerback to have departed since the end of last season - two for disciplinary reasons, two others in apparent search of playing time. Sebastian LaRue and Daquawn Brown were both dismissed for unspecified violations of team rules, while Kevin Griffin transferred to Cal Poly.

Farrar originally signed with Virginia but failed to qualify academically and was released from his Letter of Intent. After getting his academic house in order, Farrar joined the Cougs about 15 days into fall camp last year and redshirted this past season.
