WSU Recruiting: A long look at in-state class

WASHINGTON STATE HAS three in-state verbal commitments for the 2016 class. They also have seven other known offers out to uncommitted prospects from the state of Washington.

Aberdeen’s Joel Dublanko (pictured) is one of two uncommitted four-star prospects still on the board. The 6-3, 245-pounder has been quiet this spring and summer when it comes to recruiting. CF.C’s Braulio Perez continues to reach out to both Dublanko and his dad. Dublanko could be a DE or LB at the next level.

Bellevue CB Isaiah Gilchrist is the other remaining four-star prospect on Scout.com. He’s not a huge defensive back at 5-11, 180-pounds but he has offers from most of the Pac-12.

Also from Bellevue, ATH/TE Isaac Garcia had been verbally committed to USC but decommitted from the Trojans in June. He checks in at 6-4, 225.

ATH Justus Rogers (6-2, 210) makes it three uncommitted prospects from Bellevue with a WSU offer. He wants to play QB at the next level but his best position at the college level might be at safety.

Spokane DE Evan Weaver (6-3, 241) announced a top six recently: WSU, Arizona, Boise State, Cal, UW and Utah.

Veradale OT Scott Peck (6-7, 270) took home the offensive line MVP award at last month's Northwest Elite Football Camp.

Tacoma OL Kameron Smith is rated two stars. He is massive, checking in at 6-8, 300-pounds. He told Cougfan.com late last month Washington State was recruiting the hardest.

Mike Leach has three verbal pledges in the 2016 class from the state of Washington: Everett OL Joshua Watson, Bellingham WR Josiah Westbrook and Federal Way ATH D'Jimon Jones.

There are 12 other in-state prospects ranked three stars who do not hold a WSU offer: Federal Way LB Andrzej Hughes-Murray, Mount Si TE Parker Dumas, Tacoma LB Erik Glueck, Auburn S Gavin Robertson, Maple Valley DE Amandre Williams, Sammamish RB Rashaad Boddie, Juanita DT Paul Finau, Sammamish QB Harley Kirsch, Yakima S Eric Briscoe Jr., Kirkland S Makiah Gilmer, Vancouver RB Rey Green and Sammamish WR Matt Laris.

NOTABLE NOTES:
