The first-string offense started things off against the scout team defense in some 7-on-7, and the No. 1 defense went against the scout offense and work on various assignments. Following that, the two sides got together to work on some special teams work.
The Cougs worked on field goal defense but no kicks took place, it was more about getting the unit getting their technique right. WSU also worked on punt coverage, punt return (with just the returner catching punts) and kickoff coverage.
During the special teams work, the quarterbacks worked on some throwing to stay loose and the o-line worked on keeping the defender in front of them in a one-on-one drill.
The Cougars spent the last 30 minutes of their practice working on some 11-on-11 drills pitting the offense against the scout D and the defense against the scout O.
Dom Williams sat out the session on the sidelines, with Kyrin Priester (pictured above) taking the first-team reps at X in his place.
The scout defense allowed a few different young QBs get reps including Tyler Hilinski. Taylor Taliulu logged a takeaway during the 11-on-11.
The defense was quick to the ball and really aggressive for an unpadded practice.
From what I could see, Luke Falk took all the first-string reps Sunday night.
Finally, practice ended with what looked like pre-game warmups. The team appeared to work on what they'll do on game day to warm up for Portland State (Saturday, 11 a.m., Pac-12 Networks) including some offense, defense and special teams work. This portion of practice only lasted a few minutes.
In addition to Williams, Suli Hameed, Amosa Sakaria, and T.J. Fehoko did not participate in the hour-long practice.
