Thompson, 5-10, 165 pounds, (pictured above) caught two passes for 94 yards and a touchdown, and defensively, had four tackles, four passes defensed and grabbed an interception in the win. Here is the rundown on other Cougar commits for the Class of 2016 from last week's action:
Cody Brewer, QB, 6-6, 215: The Flour Bluff (Corpus Christi, Tex.) completed 23 of 44 passes for 289 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in a 36-29 loss to Victoria West. Brewer hit six different receivers, with slot man Alex Cain hauling in 14 passes and two TDs covering 49 and 10 yards. Under pressure much of the night, Brewer's third touchdown pass came on the run. Flushed right, he fired a bullet to the middle of the field where Jaeger Bull made a nifty over-the-shoulder grab. Through four games this season, Brewer has connected on 59 percent of his passes (74 of 125) for 893 yards 10 TDs and two interceptions.
Justus Rogers, ATH, 6-2, 210: The Bellevue quarterback had a nice game in a 56-0 win over Mercer Island, throwing touchdown passes of 35 and 55 yards, and running one yard for a third score.
Mason Vinyard, DE, 6-4, 220: The Helix Charter (Calif.) senior recorded two tackles, a sack, caused a fumble, and recovered a fumble in the team’s 37-7 win over Cathedral Catholic.
Jihad Woods, LB, 5-11, 215: Woods, Vinyard’s teammate, lrecorded three solo tackles, five assisted tackles, caused a fumble, and sacked the quarterback twice.
Chima Onyeukwu, LB, 6-3, 215: The Contra Costa JC linebacker recorded six tackles, 1.5 for loss, both against the quarterback in a 37-27 win over Reedley.
Skyler Thomas, DB, 5-11, 170: The Citrus Hill (Calif.) safety helped his team get the 43-26 win over Roosevelt. Thomas had two tackles, one for loss and one interception.
Joshua Watson, OL, 6-5, 270: The Cascade big man started at offensive tackle and also played on defense, picking up three tackles, including one for loss.
Josiah Westbrook, WR, 6-2, 177: The Squalicum receiver pulled down four catches for 71 yards, including one resulting in a 26-yard touchdown on fourth-and-7 in a 27-0 win over Lynden.
Stephen Houston, WR, 6-3, 185: The Rio Mesa (Calif.) receiver was prolific, catching seven passes for 159 yards and a touchdown in a 47-45 win over Santa Barbara.
Renard Bell, WR, 5-10, 160: The lone stat I could find on the Cathedral (Calif.) athlete was one tackle in the team’s 83-0 win over George Washington Prep.
D'Jimon Jones, DB, 6-2, 175: The Federal Way quarterback broke his foot earlier in the season, but he was on the sidelines to watch as his team lost to Tahoma 18-15.
Grant Porter, WR, 6-0, 175: The Upland (Calif.) wideout is currently injured, and did not play on Friday.
