WSU's first practice of season: Valentine Izundu touching way above rim and Charles Callison brimming with confidence

PULLMAN -- Valentine Izundu, bigger, stronger and a much better eater than a year ago, can now touch two to three feet above the rim, he told Cougfan.com on Friday after Washington State's first regular basketball practice of the new season. JC transfer Charles Callison, meanwhile, was brimming with confidence about the trajectory of the 2015-16 Cougars.

Callison, in the 77-second video at the top of this story, says he can't single out a single teammate as someone people will be talking about in a few months because "the whole team will be talked about, to be honest." The 6-10 Izundu, however, in the video below, didn't hesitate to put forth the name of one Cougar newcomer.

Callison, a 6-0, 183-pound point, said he has tried to pattern his game after Allen Iverson, Russell Westbrook, Derek Rose and Magic Johnson. Asked about Iverson, he said, "He was the smallest guy and played like he was the biggest out there."
