NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Four

A LINGERING QUADRICEPS injury and playing 'cross the Big Pond had no ill-effects for New York Jet Chris Ivory. Indeed, the former Washington State running back showed no Jet-lag at all in rushing the ball 29 times for 166 yards on Sunday.

Ivory and his Jets dispatched Miami on Sunday, 27-14, in front of an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 84,000 at London’s Wembley Stadium.

It was a career-best day for Ivory and the ninth time he’s rushed for 100 or more yards in a game.

Here’s how the rest of the NFL Cougs performed in week four.

Husain Abdullah, FS, Kansas City, 7th season: Posted two solo tackles in the Chiefs 36-21 fall to Cincinnati.

Deone Bucannon, SS, Arizona, 2nd season: Made eight tackles (7 solo), including one for a loss,in the Cardinals’ 24-22 loss to St. Louis.

Xavier Cooper, DL, Cleveland, rookie: Tallied one QB hit and two solo tackles — including his first sack of an NFL passer — in the Browns’ 30-27 loss to San Diego.

John Fullington, G, Arizona, 1st season: Did not play; on injured reserve.

Brandon Gibson, WR, New England, 7th season: Did not play; on injured reserve.

Travis Long, LB, Philadelphia, 2nd year: Did not play; on injured reserve.

Vince Mayle, WR, Dallas, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Cowboys’ practice squad.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, Tennessee, 7th season: Did not play; bye week.

Marquess Wilson, WR, Chicago, 3rd season: Caught six passes for 80 yards in the Bears’ 22-20 defeat of Oakland.
