What They're Saying: Beavs on a Spit Edition

YOGI ROTH THINKS Luke Falk is playing as well as any quarterback in the nation and The Oregonian points out that just when the Beavers thought it couldn't get worse than their blowout loss to Arizona it got worse in their blowout loss to Washington State. That's just a sample of what they're saying about WSU's big win Saturday.

"Last week was not a fluke. That was the message Washington State sent in a 52-31 victory over Oregon State on Saturday afternoon that gave the Cougars their first blowout triumph of the season ..."
-- Stefanie Loh, Seattle Times

“The good news is the Cougars are still in contention for postseason play, which seemed unlikely after a season-opening loss to Portland State. With six games to go, the Cougars only need two more wins to find themselves eligible for the postseason.”
-- Chantel Jennings, ESPN

“A fundamentally crisp performance by WSU in the first half ... Falk has incredible presence .. . he’s playing as well as any quarterback in the country.”
-- Yogi Roth, Pac-12 Networks

“The first half of Saturday's game at Washington State was a nightmare for Oregon State and new coach Gary Andersen.”
-- Associated Press

“Washington State and quarterback Luke Falk could do no wrong in the first half Saturday against Oregon State, and as a result the Cougars won their first Pacific-12 home game in two years.”
-- Nicholas K. Geranios, Associated Press

“Kalani Sitake said earlier this week that it could not get any worse for Oregon State’s defense following a barrage of missed assignments in a blowout loss at Arizona. Sitake was wrong. It got worse for the Beavers on Saturday on the Palouse.”
-- Gina Mizell, The Oregonian

“The Cougars got off to a fast start offensively and never slowed down, scoring on all seven of their possessions -- six touchdowns and one field goal.” -- Jeff Nusser, CougCenter “The toothy smiles that occasionally broke through late Saturday afternoon were accompanied by sincere hand-wringing, perhaps the best sign of all that success hasn’t spoiled the Washington State Cougars.”
-- John Blanchette, The Spokesman Review

And from the Twitter-verse:

Last time I was at Martin Stadium, WSU lost to Portland State. Things have changed around here.

Genuinely concerned that Glenn Johnson might lose his voice from having to announce all of these first downs today. ?#GoCougs ?#AirRaid
