CFC TV: Mastro with a good problem to have

PULLMAN -- Running backs coach Jim Mastro after practice Thursday noted Keith Harrington burst onto the scene this year with a screen pass that is almost exclusively his -- that's what explosiveness in the open field can do. With Thursday Night Football featuring the youth, what might next season bring?

With James Williams waiting in the wings, the Cougars figure to have a fully stocked cupboard in 2016. Mastro, after practice on Thursday, echoed Mike Leach in saying the Cougs will not expand to a four-back rotation in the future. It's just not feasible.

The three best will battle it out in practice and get the game reps, Mastro said, and having this many backs is a good problem to have for the offense.

He said that the biggest transition for players is the jump from freshman year to sophomore year, and he expects it to show with Williams like it has this year with Gerard Wicks and Jamal Morrow. See the video above.
