Will it be WSU for JUCO DE Phillip Napoleon?

IT’S GOING TO be a Pac-12 showdown when it comes to the recruitment of Mt. San Jacinto defensive end Phillip Napoleon. The touted 6-5, 280-pounder is fresh off his official visit to WSU and told he’s got a big decision to make. And that decision is between the Cougs and a conference foe

Will it be Washington State or Oregon State for Napoleon? That question will be answered soon.

Napoleon took his official visit to WSU over the weekend and the Cougar coaches put on the full-court press on the talented defensemen.

“It was a very good visit,” Napoleon told late Sunday night. “Everyone was very informative. I thought that it was a very peaceful campus. The players were great.”

NAPOLEON IS RANKED three stars by and saw his recruitment pick up following a big season at Mt. San Jacinto his freshman year. In addition to WSU and OSU, he also holds offers from Texas Tech, Iowa State, Purdue, Hawaii, San Diego State and others.

According to Mt. San Jacinto Recruiting Coordinator Gene Ramsey, it’s a close battle between the Cougs and Beavers. Napoleon added that picking between the two won’t be an easy task.

“I really enjoyed both visits (to both schools),” Napoleon said. “It will be one of the hardest decisions I will have to make.”

Napoleon is expected to sign with a school this week and enroll with his college of choice in January. As a sophomore this season, he posted 41 tackles in seven games, with 5.5 sacks. Napoleon has three years to play two.

Another JUCO prospect to watch out for this week is Garrett McBroom. The NE Oklahoma A&M sophomore also took a visit to Pullman this weekend and is expected to make his decision this week.

McBroom also holds an offer from Purdue, where he took an official visit two weekends ago. CF.C is working the phones trying to reach McBroom for more on his visit.
