WSU recruiting: Intriguing visitors in town

WASHINGTON STATE this weekend is looking to add to an already solid offensive line recruiting class with American Samoa’s Frederick Mauigoa in town. Here’s a look at the known visitors out on the Palouse -- including video -- for WSU's second to last official visit weekend of the year before Signing Day.

Six of the seven known recruits in Pullman this weekend are WSU verbal commits.  And the tendency once they pledge is to forget about them and focus instead on the “next guy” to come on board.

Their respective tape, however, argues otherwise.

Here are the known weekend visitors:

OG Frederick Mauigoa (6-4, 295) Tafuna High; Pago Pago

CB Marcus Strong (5-11, 160) Carter High; Rialto, Calif.

LB Derek Moore (6-1, 220) Crenshaw High; Los Angeles

CB/N Skyler Thomas (5-11, 170) Citrus Hill High; Perris, Calif.

ATH/CB D'Jimon Jones (6-2, 175) Federal Way High, Federal Way, Wash.

WR Grant Porter (6-0, 175) Upland High; Upland, Calif.
Note: Only junior tape available

OL Christian Haangana (6-6, 347) Milpitas High; Milpitas, Calif.

The WSU commit list

Note: Because he’s a transfer, Logan Tuley-Tillman doesn’t show on the verbal list. Tuley-Tillman, who verbally committed to WSU this past weekend, is on an official visit to Houston. He told CF.C this week he would not be doing any more media interviews not only through Signing Day, but until after he graduates from Michigan in June. On Friday, he tweeted: “I respectfully (ask) that the media plz stop contacting my family& I. I am going to play football wherever my mom wants to move and live at.Thanks.”
