WSU OL verbal tells CF.C he has one trip left

THREE-STAR Cougar o-line verbal Jaelen Lewis took a trip to another school this past weekend, and he has another one scheduled this coming weekend. Is the 6-6, 270-pounder out of Antelope, Calif., still planning on signing with Washington State?

Lewis, who tripped to Washington State on Jan. 15, told CF.C he remains WSU-bound.

“I went to (Fresno State) last weekend and I have another one coming up to San Jose (State this weekend) but nothing has changed on how I feel about Washington State,” said Lewis.  “I had already scheduled these officials before I had committed to them. My parents, they just wanted me to take the rest of the officials I had already set up.”

Lewis, who verballed to WSU in November, said this past weekend's official went well.

“But like I said, it didn’t sway in any way how I feel about Washington State,” said Lewis.

Bottom line, does Lewis plan on signing with Washington State one week from today?

“Yes,” said Lewis, who added that he was “ready to sign already.”

Lewis said Mike Leach and o-line coach Clay McGuire are coming by Wednesday night to see him on the hardcourt when Antelope hosts Whitney in a conference battle for first place.

Lewis is ranked the No. 21 o-tackle prospect out West by

Lewis was named first-team All-Metro this season and helped lead Antelope to a 12-1 record on the gridiron, one win shy of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II final.

Save for an 11-second clip, senior season tape on Lewis isn’t available on Hudl. Here is his junior season reel:
