Notebook: What a week for WSU recruiting

NOWADAYS ITS BECOME customary for prep and junior college recruits to announce their new college offers on social media. And if you follow the Cougfan account, you'll see the WSU staff was putting in overtime sending out scholarships this week. Who all racked up crimson schollies?

We're now eight days removed from 2016 National Signing Day and the WSU coaches are wasting little time getting themselves ready for the new class. This week, WSU has sent out double-digit scholarship offers to prep/JC prospects, showing their aggressive nature, particularly on the West Coast. 

Here's our roundup of the newest recruits to haul in a Pac-12 offer from the Cougs.

• Last night, WSU extended an offer to massive Chaffey JC offensive lineman Ronald Rudd. The 6-7, 310-pounder also holds offers from UAB, Louisville and others. You can watch his highlight here

• Another OT to haul in a WSU offer on Thursday was Bishop Dowd (California) hoss Alijah Vera-Tucker. The 6-4, 275-pounder also holds offers from Arizona State, Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Hawaii and others. You can watch his highlights here

• Over on defense, linebacker Addison Gumbs landed his WSU offer yesterday afternoon. Gumbs checks in at 6-4, 215-pounds and holds offers from WSU, Cal, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Utah State and others. You can watch his highlights here 

• Can't fprget about the wide receivers. WSU was offer No. 15 for Centennial (California) wideout Tyjon Lindsey. The 5-8, 170-pounder is ranked four stars and the No. 27 WR in the country by You can watch his highlights here 

RELATED: One prospect to continue to eye is offensive tackle Kanan Ray. The 6-4, 270-pound OT has held a WSU offer for quite some time and recently told CF.C he's got high interest in the Cougs.

• Back to the offers, WSU continued it's QB search for 2017, offering Utah native Tayler Katoa. Katoa, a 6-1, 220-pounder, also holds offers from BYU, Oregon State and Utah. You can watch his highlights here

• Can WSU flip a USC commit? Four-star running back Stephen Carr was offered by WSU on Thursday. The touted RB is already committed to the Trojan, but that hasn't stopped WSU and others from recruiting him. You can watch his highlights here

• The OT's are getting plenty of love from WSU this week.  Ryan Nelson, also out of California, picked up his WSU offer on Wednesday. The 6-6, 260-pounder holds tenders from WSU, Arizona State, Cal, Nebraska and others. You can watch his highlights here 

PLUSJUCO OT with WSU offers talks to CF.C 

• On Tuesday, La Mirada (California) coach Mike Moscheti announced that WR/DB Elijah Hicks was offered by the Cougar staff. Hicks, a 6-0, 180-pounder, also holds schollies from Arizona, Cal, Colorado and others. You can watch his highlights here

•  Hicks wasn't the only La Mirada prospect to receive a WSU offer. Teammates and outside linebacker Chase Newman was also offered by the Cougs. Newman also holds offers from Colorado and Colorado State. You can watch his highlights here 

• Four-star WR Isaiah Hodgins  was offered by WSU Tuesday morning. The 6-3, 190-pounder is a highly touted recruit thus far, holding three Pac-12 offers and drawing interest from Michigan, Notre Dame and others. You can watch his highlight here

• WSU was the first school to send an offer in the direction of 6-1, 190-pound wide receiver B.J. CasteelYou can watch his highlights here 

• The Cougs were also offer No. 1 for offensive tackle Jaxson Kirkland. That offer came in on Monday. He has added a schollie from Hawaii since then. You can watch his highlights here 

• One of the top defensive ends on the West Coast this recruiting cyle is 6-5, 230-pounder Jaelan Phillips. He received his offer from WSU on Monday afternoon. Phillips already holds double-digit offers. You can watch his highlights here
