Hoops: Ernie Kent goes to Canada for Washington State guard verbal

ERNIE KENT has added a 6-4 guard originally out of Canada to his 2016 class, according to CBS Sports. Toronto's Jamar Ergas, whom ESPN back in 2012 labeled as a rising prospect to keep an eye on, also tweeted out “Feels great to be a Cougar!”

The 6-4, 180-pound Ergas was initially a 2015 class prospect, it wasn’t immediately clear whether he spent this past season at a prep school.  He drew a lot of recruiting interest from a young age, with ESPN calling him in 2012, “a super athletic shooting guard with quick and explosive bounce.”

The signing period in basketball runs through May 18, WSU had not yet announced Ergas' signing at press time. Kent had previously announced three signings in guards Milan Acquaah (6-2, 185) and Malachi Flynn (6-0, 165) and forward Jeff Pollard (6-8, 235), with three spots still to fill before news of Ergas' verbal pledge surfaced.
