WSU adds K-State to future football schedules in 2026 and 2029

NEW WSU PRESIDENT Kirk Shulz has been on the job all of 10 days after coming over from Kansas State but in short order, Washington State has announced home-and-home series in both football and basketball with the Wildcats. The latest, announced Wednesday, is the home-and-home football series with K-State.

The series begins in 2026 in Manhattan, Kan., on Sept. 12.  The return contest is three years later, on Sept. 8, 2029 in Martin Stadium.

Washington State and Kansas State have never met on the football field.

“Kansas State joins Wisconsin as a Power 5 opponent that our fans can look forward to seeing in Martin Stadium,” Bill Moos said in the statement released by WSU. “Additionally, Boise State and BYU provide future regional home matchups which should be very appealing to our fan base.”

WSU is scheduled to host BYU in 2019.  Wisconsin is scheduled for 2023 in Martin Stadium.

Last month, the Cougars and Wildcats announced a home-and-home basketball series beginning this fall in Manhattan.
