WSU, UW beat writers see Cougs topping Dawgs in Pac-12 North

THE NATIONAL MEDIA and preseason magazines all seem to be picking the Cougars to finish fourth in the Pac-12 North. But the beat writers covering Washington State and Washington in Spokane and Seattle newspapers, respectively, have a different take.

The Spokesman’s Jacob Thorpe and the Seattle Times’ Adam Jude both submitted WSU at No. 2 in the North on their Pac-12 media poll ballots. The full poll will be released July 14.

2. Washington State – The Pac-12's most poised quarterback leads a team stocked with playmakers on offense and defense.

2. Washington State: For all the attention the Huskies are getting this offseason, folks seem to be sleeping on Luke Falk and the Cougars.

Both pick Stanford to win the North, and slot UW at No. 3 in the division behind WSU.  They also both picked UCLA to win the South.
