BREAKING: Three-star OT Alec Kuzmack picks WSU, discusses decision with CF.C

FOR NEW WASHINGTON STATE commit Alec Kuzmack, the decision to pull the trigger on Monday night was an easy one. The 6-5, 285-pounder is no stranger to the Palouse, having taken a pair of unofficials to the WSU campus. And moments ago, Kuzmack told the memories of those visits haven’t faded one bit, which has him excited to don crimson in 2017.

Indeed, Kuzmack is Wazzu-bound.

“I committed to Washington State today,” Kuzmack told CF.C. “WSU just felt like home for me. I really like the coaches, players and the school. It seems like a great place to be, which I why I chose them.”

Being recruited as an offensive tackle, the Idaho product spoke with WSU offensive line coach Clay McGuire on Monday to deliver the big news.

“Oh, he loved it,” Kuzmack said. “He’s really excited for me and he said that he can’t wait for me to get up there and play for him.”

Kuzmack committed to WSU over offers from Boise State and Colorado State. He was also receiving strong interest from Virginia, Washington and others. 

“I’ve been to Washington State twice and it really has everything,” Kuzmack said. “I like the stadium a lot and I thought the whole school is nice. The practice facilities were awesome as well.

“When I spoke with the coaches, they told me that I’m a good runner and that I learn things really fast. I practice technique and just focus on my guy on every play.”

On his most recent visit to WSU, for a camp in the spring, Kuzmack said he had a good one on one with head man Mike Leach.

“He just told me to work hard, get good grades and do what I need to do to get on the field,” Kuzmack said.
