Pac-12 media poll predicts Cougs to finish 4th in North

HOT OFF THE PRESSES, the Pac-12 media poll has been released. The media members who regularly cover the league have projected Washington State one spot higher in the Pac-12 North than they did in last year's poll.

Washington State was picked fourth in the Pac-12 North in the preseason poll released Thursday.  Stanford is picked to win the North, followed by Washington, Oregon, WSU, Cal and Oregon State.

In the South, UCLA was picked to win the division, followed by USC, Utah, Arizona, ASU and Colorado.

The media tabbed Stanford to top UCLA for the Pac-12 championship.

The Pac-12 media poll has correctly selected the conference champion only twice in the last nine seasons, and 29 of 55 overall.

Last year the Cougs were picked to finish fifth in the North by the media.  WSU ended up 9-4 overall and ended the regular season in third place in the North with a 6-3 conference record.

This year’s poll vote consisted of 33 media members.
