HOLLYWOOD – With assistants Graham Harrell and Dave Yost having moved on, who will assist Mike Leach this season with the Washington State quarterbacks? CF.C asked Leach about that and more in this one-on-one interview.

Leach said outside receivers coach Dave Nichol, who was East Carolina’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2015 before coming to Washington State, will help out with the QBs. Also in the mix is WSU offensive quality control assistant Chase Holbrook.

Leach also named some of the leaders on this year’s Cougar offense and defense, talked about the evolution of the program under his watch, his summer reading list and more.

Holbrook, entering his first season at WSU, played quarterback at New Mexico State (2005-08) before getting into coaching. He spent the 2015 season as the passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Tarleton State, a Division II program in Stephenville, Texas. Other stops include New Mexico Highlands (2014) and McMurry (2013) where was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at both schools. He began his coaching career at McMurry as the running backs coach (2009-10) before coaching quarterbacks for two seasons (2011-12).
