WSU season ticket sales up 16 percent, but …

THE COUGS' 9-4 season in 2015 -- and the prospects for the 2016 football campaign -- is having an impact at the box office. Washington State has sold 13,500 season tickets, WSU SID tells Cougfan.com. Last year at this time, WSU had sold 11,630 season tickets.

And, WSU is within shouting distance of its all-time high in season ticket sales.  CF.C was unable to confirm the exact number and season but the all-time high in season tickets sold is believed to be 13,900 during the Cougs' streak of three 10-win seasons from 2001-03.

But as much as the trend line is decidedly heading in the right direction, more work remains.

As Bill Moos said this past season on his radio show, the next step in the process is for WSU to reach 18,000 season tickets -- a base of 18,000 would allow sustainability.

WASHINGTON STATE on Friday also sent out a release announcing football single-game tickets for home games go on sale Monday, Aug. 1, at 9 a.m.

“We are currently on track to sell out multiple games. Our CAF member and season ticket holder pre-sale has been very strong and we expect sales to continue to increase with our general public on sale. In addition to single game tickets season tickets are still available for purchase in most areas of Martin Stadium," said Matt Zollinger, head of ticket sales and services.

WSU's home slate in 2016 consists of seven games: Eastern Washington, Idaho, Oregon, UCLA (homecoming), Arizona, California and Washington in the Apple Cup.

Tickets for Cougar road games -- as well as mini plans for all home games -- are available now. On Monday morning, single-game tickets will be available online HERE or by calling 1-800-Go-Cougs.
