3 takeaways: It's like Coug WR never left; Day 12 of WSU fall camp

PULLMAN – Washington State’s Air Raid offense has been looking explosive in recent days -- but it might just be ready to hit an even higher level. And that’s because of a certain Cougar outside wide receiver.

1. Marks returns full speed
Fifth-year senior Gabe Marks has been somewhat active at practice over the past couple of weeks, but today he was full-go and back with the 1’s.  How did he look? Gabe Marks is Gabe Marks -- he does his thing out on the field and makes it look easy.  Indeed, it looked as if he had never missed a rep. And the offense, of course, is only better and more dangerous with Marks back in the mix at the Z spot.

2.     Morrow looking like the go-to RB
With all of the hype and discussion surrounding the battle at running back, Jamal Morrow looks to be the No. 1 guy right now from what I've seen. Things could still change but the crimson three-headed monster is starting to look like a normal running back rotation. Morrow has been demonstrating the total package: running the ball, catching passes, and blocking up front. He has been very dangerous in the red zone lately. With Keith Harrington now lining up in the slot, Morrow and Gerard Wicks are making a strong bid to earn the lion's share of the reps, though slippery James Williams certainly can't be counted out with another couple weeks-plus before the opener.  But if the season started tomorrow, my guess is Morrow would get the most carries in the game.

3.     Hanser solidifying his spot at rush
Dylan Hanser has consistently been running with the 1’s at the rush linebacker spot in recent days and he's been making good use of 'em. Hanser has been causing some serious damage in the backfield. The third-year junior had another sack in Thursday's practice and for the moment, looks to be strengthening his hold on the job. Though Hanser seems to me to be the likely starter at this point, Logan Tago is still getting a lot of reps and based on the whole of what I've seen through a dozen practice sessions, it seems highly likely to me that the two will rotate this season.

Stay tuned to CF>C, we'll have our full practice recap plus more video interviews like the one immediately below a bit later on.
