Cougar Football: Week One depth chart released

TRUE FRESHMAN Jalen Thompson is listed atop the newly released depth chart at strong safety, opposite starting free safety Shalom Luani, for Saturday’s game vs. Eastern Washington.

Thompson (pictured above) is the lone first- or second-year freshman listed as a starter on the chart, but he's not the only one in the two-deeps.

True freshman wide receiver Isaiah Johnson is the No. 2 Z receiver behind starter Gabe Marks. Another true freshman, wideout Dezmon Patmon, is listed as “OR” with C.J. Dimry at the No. 2 X receiver behind starter Tavares Martin.

In the two-deeps, four first- or second-year freshmen are listed as backups on the o-line: Cedric Bigge-Duren, walk on Drew Norvell, Frederick Mauigoa and Noah Osur Myers.

Meanwhile, Treshon Broughton and Robert Taylor are listed as “OR” at one starting corner spot, and Logan Tago and Dylan Hanser are listed as “OR” at the No. 1 Rush.

Isaac Dotson is the starting WIL with Frankie Luvu backing him up and newcomer and former JC transfer Garrett McBroom is listed as the No. 2 end behind starter Daniel Ekuale.

Robert Lewis is listed as the starting H, with Kyle Sweet backing him up.

At punt returner, Kaleb Fossum, Taylor and Marks are all listed as “OR” while at kick returner, Martin, James Williams and Taylor are listed as “OR.”
