CFC TV: Cougar defensive coordinator Alex Grinch expects EWU to challenge Coug D both vertically and horizontally

PULLMAN – Eastern Washington head man Beau Baldwin has said he’ll use all three quarterbacks against Washington State on Saturday (5 p.m., Pac-12 Network). “If I’m him, I would say the exact same thing,” said Cougar defensive coordinator Alex Grinch.

Grinch said Saturday in Martin he expects to see an EWU offense that is multiple, with lots of personnel groupings, wide receivers continually on the move pre-snap to guard against tendencies, and a unit that will “spread you out put a lot of stress on a defense both vertically and horizontally.”

How do you win the battles against an offensive attack that utilizes some of the same route concepts as WSU, with some of their own added into the gumbo?  Stay disciplined and keep the ball in front of you, says Grinch
