WHEN WSU IS ON DEFENSE
1. Attack the backfield.
BSU quarterback Brett Rypien has occasionally struggled against the blitz. The Cougars need to force the issue.
2. Regain its aggressive identity.
WSU's defense thrives on turnovers and havoc. The Cougs cannot, as they did last week, sit on their heels against Boise State.
WHEN WSU HAS THE BALL
3. Overwhelm the defense
The offensive weaponry WSU has is nothing like Boise faced in Week One. Get the Broncos off balance from the opening series, and keep them there.
4. No silly mistakes.
Luke Falk throws almost all of his interceptions on first downs or with a big lead. He needs to avoid rolling the dice and stay within his game.
5. No missed opportunities.
If the Cougs want to win a shootout, they cannot take easy points off the board.
