Washington State QB verbal Connor Neville has up-and-down night in close win

THINGS WERE CERTAINLY close for Washington State four-star quarterback commit Connor Neville last night. According to Oregon Live, the Cougar commit and his offense struggled at times on Friday night, but made the plays needed to come out with a close win.

No. 2 Wilsonville (Ore.) survived a scare from No. 6 St. Helens last night, coming out on top 23-14.

In the win, Neville (pictured above with fellow four-star WSU verbal pledge, OL Dontae Powell out of Richland) went 14-of-36 for 173 yards and one touchdown on the night. The 22 incompletions were a season high for the four-star quarterback.

"The uneven performance was a combination of some inaccurate throws, receivers dropping passes and St. Helens pressure," OregonLive's Nick Daschel reported.

On the season, Neville has now thrown for 1,173 yards and 16 touchdowns in four games. Wilsonville holds a 3-1 record.
