NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Eight

THE GOOD FORTUNE Jacksonville anticipated for their ground attack by the signing of Chris Ivory has been all but unrealized halfway through the 2016 campaign.

Ivory hasn’t looked a thing like the running back who ran for over 1,000 yards as a New York Jet in 2015. After sitting out the first two games with an undisclosed illness, he’s rushed for just 129 yards on 40 carries with 1 TD for the Jaguars.

Thursday may have been the least productive day yet for Ivory. He rushed for just six yards on 4 carries and caught 1 pass for another 6 hashes in the Jaguars’ 36-22 loss to Tennessee. He also fumbled for the third consecutive week.

Hybrid linebacker Deone Bucannon was also on the losing end in week eight, posting 9 tackles (2 solo) in Arizona’s 30-30 loss to Carolina.

It was the same fate for Xavier Cooper and the Cleveland Browns, losers to the Jets, 33-28. Cooper contributed 2 defensive stops (1 solo).

Not as bad, but not so good for d-lineman Destiny Vaeao, who recorded no stats in Philadelphia’s 23-23 sister-kisser with Dallas.

Offensive lineman Joe Dahl and his Detroit club also appeared on the wrong side of the ledger, falling to Houston, 20-13. Dahl saw action on the Lions' kick return team.
