NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Nine

JACKSONVILLE RUNNING back Chris Ivory turned in his most productive game of the season on Sunday, rushing for over 100 yards—his first triple-digit outing of the season—in the Jaguars’ 19-14 loss to Kansas City.

Ivory ran for 107 yards on 18 carries and caught 1 pass for no gain on 2 targets. Coming into week nine, he’d rushed for just 129 yards on the season.

But his solid performance—including a highlight-film 42 yard stiff-arming sideline run—was overshadowed by yet another ball-handling miscue. It was his fourth consecutive week with a fumble, but where the first three were relatively harmless, number four was a game-changer. Ivory fumbled on the goal line late in the fourth quarter with Kansas City recovering in the end zone for a touchback.

ROOKIE DEFENSIVE tackle Destiny Vaeao had his best game as a professional, posting a career-high four solo tackles, including a sack, in Philadelphia’s 28-23 loss to the New York Giants.

Fellow Coug Xavier Cooper contributed one solo stop in Cleveland’s 35-10 fall to Dallas.

Offensive lineman Joe Dahl was not activated for Detroit’s 22-16 win against Minnesota, while Deone Bucannon’s Arizona club had a bye week.
