While FiveThirtyEight gives WSU just a 5 percent chance of being tabbed for the final four, the odds climb all the way to 40 percent if the No. 20-ranked Cougs win out.
That, of course, won’t be easy. They’re underdogs on the road at No. 12 Colorado this Saturday and then they play host to No. 6 Washington on Nov 25. A victory in the Apple Cup would send the Cougs, as North champions, to Santa Clara for the Pac-12 title against the winner of the South.
FiveThirtyEight pegs the Cougs’ chances at winning the conference crown at 25 percent — up from 19 percent a week ago.
