Recruiting: An Apple Cup twist at Washington State, with at least two official visitors coming to Wazzu

WASHINGTON STATE almost never brings in official visitors until after the season. But Mike Leach is making at least two rare exceptions for this year’s Apple Cup.

Prep recruiting sources tell CF.C a three-star WR out of Florida who is verbally pledged to another school has locked in his official visit to Washington State for the Apple Cup.  The other known visitor is a WSU verbal.

Miami wide receiver Carmoni Green (6-1, 192) out of Central High has received offers from WSU, North Carolina and others since his pledge to the Illini back in August. Green was reported to be officially visiting Utah this weekend.

Three-star linebacker and WSU pledge Faavae Faavae out of Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, Calif., tweeted out Sunday that he’s headed to Pullman on an official visit for the Apple Cup.

This season has seen a handful of similar tweets from prospects who didn't end up officially visiting.  But a prep source Sunday night confirmed to CF.C the 6-1, 210-pounder is indeed taking his WSU official this weekend.
