NFL Cougar Highlights: Week 13

DALLAS RECEIVER Vince Mayle has yet to be thrown to this season, but the Wazzu alum was involved in arguably the play of the game in the Cowboys’ 17-15 win against Minnesota on Thursday.

With Dallas down 9-7 and just over 10 minutes remaining, Mayle hit Viking punt returner Adam Thielen, allowing teammate Kyle Wilber to strip and recover the ball on the Minnesota 8-yard line. Dallas scored one play later and never surrendered the lead from that point.

Mayle spent the first nine games of the season on the practice squad.

The third leg of the Marquess Wilson Comeback Tour hit a roadblock early on in Chicago’s tilt with San Francisco on Sunday.

Just minutes into the first quarter, Marquess Wilson dropped the only pass thrown his way, but left the game—a 26-6 Bears’ win—for good immediately after with a strained groin.

The receiver had the most productive day of his NFL career last weekend, catching eight passes for 125 yards. He was only recently activated for the 2016 campaign after nursing a broken foot suffered last Spring.

Arizona’s Deone Bucannon led all Cardinal defenders with seven tackles (6 solo) and 2 of those led to negative yardage, contributing mightily to the Cards’ 31-13 defeat of Washington.

Destiny Vaeao posted two tackles (1 solo) in Philadelphia’s 32-14 fall to Cincinnati.

Joe Dahl had no recorded stats from Detroit’s 28-13 victory against New Orleans.

Jacksonville running back Chris Ivory sat out the Jaguars’ 20-10 loss to Denver with a bum hamstring.

Xavier Cooper and his Cleveland Browns had a bye week.
