Washington State has already sold 4,800 bowl game tickets to the Holiday out of allotment of 7,000

BOWL GAME TICKETS SALES are booming at Washington State. In less than 24 hours since the announcement the Cougs were headed to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, WSU has already sold nearly 70 percent of its allotment of bowl game tickets.

As of first thing Monday morning the Cougs had sold 4,800 tickets to the Holiday Bowl, WSU Sports Information's Bill Stevens tells CF.C.

Washington State and Minnesota received an allotment of 7,000 tickets.

Bill Moos said on Sunday Washington State has 9,300 alums in SoCal, and 2,300 in the San Diego area alone.

Moos was also expecting a decent number of the 11,000 WSU alums in Northern California, 5,000 in Arizona and 2,200 in Nevada to buy tickets and travel to Qualcomm for the Dec. 27 matchup  (4 pm, ESPN).

In 2003, WSU had to request more tickets to satisfy demand, ultimately selling 12,000 tickets ahead of Washington State's victory over No. 5 Texas.
