Hobbs , a defensive end prospect, is a Coug.
Checking in at 6-5, 240-pounds, Hobbs was indeed headed to UConn. However, he was a surprise visitor to Pullman this weekend and decided to flip his verbal to WSU while on his official visit.
Last week, the Cougars a lost commitment from defensive end Joe Tryon, but wasted no time in finding his replacement.
After graduating from Washington High in Iowa in 2016, Hobbs enrolled at prep school Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts this past fall. He went there with the goal of landing a Divison-I offer. He was offered by UConn, Fordham and Holy Cross, but committed to the Huskies last month.
WSU got in on Hobbs, though, and extended him an offer earlier this month. They were clearly able to turn his head over the weekend, which led to a verbal commitment less than two weeks before National Signing Day.
CF.C is working the phones to connect with Hobbs and will have more for you shortly. Until then, check out his highlight tape.
