Cougar 2017 QB signee Connor Neville: A big time arm

WHEN IT COMES to quarterbacks, Mike Leach has often remarked how he looks at qualities like accuracy before arm strength. Connor Neville, though, can sling it. WSU area recruiter Eric Mele said that was apparent at the start of the recruiting process that culminated with the 4-star QB signing his Letter of Intent to Washington State today.

“He’s got a big time live arm,” Mele said of Neville on the Cougar Radio Network on Wednesday. “That’s the biggest thing that jumps out on film -- he’s really got the arm talent, he’s pretty fast, and he gets rid of it. I knew he could throw the ball.”

Neville (6-2, 185) out of Wilsonville, Ore., is ranked the No. 22 QB prospect in the nation and No. 8 out West by Scout.com.

Neville completed 60 percent of his passes his senior season at Wilsonville High, throwing for 2,756 yards with 35 touchdowns vs. 10 interceptions in 10 games. He also rushed for seven TDs. He was named All-State honorable mention. He was named to the ESPN300 as the ninth-best dual-threat quarterback in the land by ESPN.com.
