WSU hoops recruiting: Tacoma 4-star prospect Roberto Gittens gives high marks to Wazzu visit, but when will decision come?

TACOMA 4-STAR PROSPECT Roberto Gittens out of Foss High gave high marks to Ernie Kent and Co. for his official visit experience at Washington State. But a signing decision might still be a ways off.

Gittens didn't have much time to talk when we reached him. But the 6-5, 200-pound wing did talk about where things stand for  coming off his official visit to Washington State.

"It was great," Gittens said of his WSU official than ran from Sunday to Tuesday. "The campus, the guys, the coaching staff were all really good. I know most of those guys so it was fun."

Gittens, The News Tribune’s All-Area player of the year, averaged 22 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists as a senior and led Foss to its first state title since 2000.

He's playing the next two weekends for the Portland Basketball Club in Virginia and Indianapolis.

"I told (WSU) I plan on making my decision after I finish up AAU ... I told them I would play with them through the month of April, so I'll see where things are after that," said Gittens.

The signing period, which began April 12, lasts through May 17.

"I'll be making a decision before then," said Gittens.

Gittens has been offered by WSU, Boise State, Hofstra and Montana this cycle and was a BSU verbal pledge before decommitting earlier this month. He said he is also hearing from Oregon, Utah and "a little bit" from Texas.

"I don't really have a leader, everything is all still open for me," said Gittens.

The last two TNT players of the year are both Cougs: Malachi Flynn and Viont’e Daniels.
