It's official: Early signing period in December after CCA votes early

AFTER YEARS OF indecision, fits and starts regarding an early signing period in college football, the final decision has come a month early. There will be an early signing period in December.

A 72-hour early signing period will begin Dec. 20, the Collegiate Commissioners Association decided today per Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman. The CCA was expected not to rule on it until June but instead gave the green light a month early.

The new signing period almost certainly means WSU will host at least a few official visitors during the season, something the Cougs have gone away from the past two recruiting cycles.

After the regular season ends, the first two visit weekends in December before recruiting shuts down are likely to now be hugely competitive between schools trying to get those recruits on campus.
