Lucky number four

WSU rides huge offensive first quarter, second-half defensive stand, to tame Arizona Wildcats, 48-21.

Tonight—with a 48-21 victory over Arizona—the Washington State Cougars became just the twelfth team in school history to win their first four games.

Cougar defensive back Lamont Thompson started the scoring with a 35-yard interception return, the first of four opening quarter touchdowns for WSU.

The Wildcats responded with twenty-one unanswered first-half points, but the Cougs answered with 20 straight of their own and held UA scoreless in the second-half.

Wazzu running back David Minnich scored four touchdowns—3 by land, 1 by air—and rushed for 121 yards on 30 carries.
