Scott Davis' Diary:<br>Week Two

PULLMAN -- Hey Coug fans. Just wanted to say thanks for all of the comments last week following my first missive about what I'm doing on my summer vacation. However, I'm not going to tell you how much I bench press!

Well, most of the team has been here going on four weeks of summer school. It has been busy, with workouts and studies, but at times it does get a little boring.

The trick to is to find ways to entertain yourself so the time goes by faster. It's important to find something that takes your mind off running and being sore. One positive that comes from this is that we're not as distracted as other teams might be. There isn't a lot of trouble we can get into and everyone is just focused on getting faster and stronger. For some players, running and lifting is not a chore but a daily highlight.

If you want some insight as to why WSU has had three-straight 10-wins seasons -- something no Pac-10 (a.k.a. Pac-8, PCC, AAWU) school has achieved since the 1930s -- you need only to look at the commitment in the faces of these players.

But there are things that we do besides football. At my house, I just got a recording program and microphone so some of the guys come over to make beats and then record their voices over it and rap. Kevin McCall, Allen Thompson, Reyshawn Bobo, Steve Dildine, Eric Frampton, and I have made a few songs that get played in the locker room from time to time.

The songs are nothing too good but it does help pass the time. Hopefully by the end of the summer workouts we will have most of the team on a track and a full CD. Well, that's about it for this week. It's getting real hot in Pullman these days! Talk to you next week. Oh, and in case you forgot, we open the season in 72 days on ESPN against New Mexico.
