Cody Boyd's Diary:<br> Week Six

PULLMAN— Hey, Cougfans—another hard day almost in the books. Tim McGraw rocked the Gorge last weekend. I got a little sun burnt, but it was well worth it. Just over a week of good ol' summer school to go. More importantly, two weeks and three days until we report back to start up fall camp!

We get about a week off before we come back and start showing the newcomers what its like here at Washington State. We report August 8 and start practicing the following day.

I don't have huge plans this weekend... probably just hanging around Pullman, and seeing how many hours I can sleep. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that I have another paper to write for Monday.

To answer a question off the board, yes, there are walk-ons taking part in our workouts, but they were all here last year, no new guys yet. The walk-ons that are participating are working really hard along with everyone else and making it to all of the lifting times. This shows a lot into their character. They want to play and help the team and they're willing to work extremely hard to prove themselves. Just another part of this program that is awesome.

Well, I know I'm not alone when I say I can't wait to see how the incoming guys do in two weeks! One hard thing is learning all the new names. I have never been good at names and without being formally introduced it is usually how ever fast I get to talk with them.

Be sure to post any questions you have on the CF.C message board and I'll try to answer them in my final diary installment next week.

Cody Boyd is a sophomore tight end from Ferndale High, where his exploits on the field earned him one of only three blue chip ratings handed out by the Seattle Times in '02. As a redshirt freshman for the Cougs last year, Boyd caught 18 passes for 230 yards and a TD, also using his 6-8 frame and athleticism to block three kicks. Along with teammate Scott Davis, he graciously volunteered to give Cougar fans a window on the world of pre-season football preparation with a weekly diary.
