RECRUITING: WSU visits with Scandrick on Monday

THREE-STAR wide receiver Orlando Scandrick had an in-home visit with Washington State on Monday evening. The Los Al product updated on his recruiting status.

Mere moments after Orlando Scandrick wound up his in-home visit with Washington State on Monday evening, spoke with the Los Al speed merchant.

So the big question was this: Did Scandrick verbally commit to the Cougs tonight?

"Not yet," laughed Scandrick. "Coach Doba is going to come to my house (in the next few weeks) and we'll have another meeting and evaluate it from there."

Previously, there seemed a decent chance the 6-0, 170-pound wide receiver would verbal during the in-home. Since that didn't happen, is there another school climbing his leaderboard or has anything else changed recently?

"Everything is good, Washington State still is the clear favorite."

Normal paperwork still needs to go back and forth between the academic counselor's office at Los Alamitos HS and Washington State (the Thanksgiving week precluded that taking place) but Scandrick has already obtained a qualifying SAT score.

He's not, however, satisfied with it and will re-take the test even though it was high enough to qualify.

"Right now, I am a full qualifier and everything. But I am taking the test again to get a higher score..right now the only thing that would hold me back from going to Washington State is if (I didn't graduate from) high school."

Scandrick has 43 catches for 791 yards and eight TDs (12 total) on the year for the Griffins. Next up for Los Al (11-1) are the semi-finals, where they'll take on Lakewood.
