NFL Cougar Highlights, Week 15

WASHINGTON STATE ALUM James Darling took no prisoners Sunday, leading all defenders with nine solo tackles and two assists. The performance by the Kettle Falls, Wash., native was one of a number of standout defensive efforts turned in by Cougar greats during the week that was in the NFL. Hamza Abdullah, S, Denver, rookie: Declared inactive for Broncos' 28-17 win against Buffalo.

Calvin Armstrong, OT, Philadelphia, rookie: Declared inactive for the Eagles' 17-16 win against St. Louis.

Drew Bledsoe, QB, Dallas, 13th season: The reigning NFC offensive player of the week connected on 16 of 29 pass attempts for 153 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in Cowboys' 35-7 loss to Washington. Also ran the ball twice for no yards and lost a fumble.

Erik Coleman, S, New York Jets, 2nd season: Led the Jets with six solo tackles and one assist in their 24-20 fall to Miami.

Devard Darling, WR, Baltimore, 2nd season: Had one tackle (on special teams) in the Ravens' 48-3 shellacking of Green Bay on MondaY Night Football.

James Darling, LB, Arizona, 9th season: Led all defenders with nine solo sticks and two assists in Cards' 30-19 loss to Houston.

Jason David, CB, Indianapolis, 2nd season: Recorded two solo tackles in the Counterfeit Colts 26-17 fall to San Diego.

Steve Gleason, S, New Orleans, 5th season: Posted three solo defensive stops in Saints' 27-10 drop to Carolina.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 14th season: The Spokane native was true on his one field goal attempt (from 45 yards) and both PAT tries in the Lions' 41-17 loss to Cincy.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo. 6th season: Perfect on his lone field goal attempt (from 31 yards) and both extra-points in the Bills' 28-17 loss to Denver.

Rien Long, DT, Tennessee, 3rd season: Notched three solo stops in the Titans' 28-24 fall to Seattle.

Rob Meier, DE, Jacksonville, 6th season: Posted four solo tackles, including one sack, in Jags' 10-9 squeaker over San Fran.

Karl Paymah, CB, Denver, rookie: No stats from Broncs' 28-17 victory against the Bills.

McKenzi (nee: "Jonathan") Smith, RB, Kansas City, 2nd season: Did not play. Assigned to Chiefs' practice squad.

Raonall Smith, LB, Minnesota, 4th season: Recovered a fumble and tallied four solo defensive stops in Vikes' 18-3 fall to Pittsburgh.

Lamont Thompson, S, Tennessee, 4th season: Led Titans with seven solo tackles and one assist in their 28-24 loss to Seattle.

Robbie Tobeck, C, Seattle, 13th season: Continued his all-pro caliber season with another strong performance for Seattle in their 28-24 defeat of Tennessee.

Marcus Trufant, CB, Seattle, 3rd season: Tallied three solo tackles and one assist during the Hawks' 28-24 win against the Titans.

Cory Withrow, C, Minnesota, 7th season: The Spokane native started for the Vikes in their 18-3 loss to the Steelers.
