Cougs looking to stay healthy

PULLMAN -- With less than two weeks before the Cougs' opener at Auburn, long term rehab listings are seemingly few, but WSU still has its share of injuries. Three key performers recently have been upgraded -- corner Tyron Brackenridge returned to limited action Sunday while two top WSU receiving threats in Michael Bumpus and Chris Jordan are scheduled to return to limited action Tuesday.

Offensive lineman Charles Harris has been practicing with a brace on his elbow for some time. The senior right tackle bumped it again during Saturday's scrimmage, and will at least get Tuesday off. The injury does not appear to be anything that would keep the 6-6, 323-pound hoss sidelined for an extended period of time. Jed Collins fractured a finger Saturday. It was unknown at press time the course of treatment or how long the junior might be out. Listed as the No. 2 tight end, Collins has also been a key special teams performer the last two seasons.

Cornerback Tyron Brackenridge, as noted in Sunday night's report, has returned to the field in limited action. Also limited in practice is Michael Bumpus, who recently returned after a slight sprain in the second scrimmage. The junior receiver has been very consistent this fall, catching most everything thrown his way, and is also listed as Washington State's No. 1 punt returner.

WR Chris Jordan is also scheduled to return to limited action on Tuesday after bruising a shoulder in Friday's evening practice. The senior has had an impressive showing so far this fall, and before Friday had been noticeably much healthier than the past two seasons when he's battled through knee injuries.

The Medical Report from Washington State, released late Monday afternoon:
