Receiver/return man back from Pullman

AMONG THE OFFICIAL visitors in Pullman this past weekend, Drew Terrell, a 5-9, 178-pound receiver/return man who gave a verbal commitment to Stanford three weeks ago. Out of Chandler, Ariz. and Hamilton High, Terrell talks about the Cougar players, coaches and his crimson visit experience.

Terrell said among the highlights were time spent with Jeffrey Solomon (player host), Xavier Hicks, Brandon Gibson and Fevaea'i Ahmu.

"It's a real tight knit bunch of guys...the coaching staff was really cool. It was a good trip I had a lot of fun," said Terrell. "The players are really family oriented and really easy to get along with."

Terrell also gave high marks to the coaching staff, including Rich Rasmussen, Mike Levenseller and Paul Wulff.

"I talked to coach Raz for a while, he's the guy who's been recruiting me (most) from there. Coach Levenseller is a real technical guy and has a lot of knowledge about the receiver position. He seems like he really knows what's he's doing and he makes the best out of his receivers. I sat in with him on a meeting and we watched some film, he seems like a really good coach. I talked with coach Wulff for a bit too," said Terrell.

TERRELL SAID THE Washington State visit moved the Cougars up on his list, though his feeling on Stanford haven't changed.

"It moved them up a little bit. I'm still committed to Stanford but I'm still looking at stuff and weighing out all my options. But I'm still committed to coach Harbaugh and I really like them," said Terrell.

While the loss was a rough one, it didn't change the way Terrell looks at the Cougs, he said.

"The loss had no affect on me whatsoever. I understand they have a really young team, they have a lot of young guys playing and they have a new coaching staff that was just hired in December. They're going to get things turned around, I'm not worried about that at all. The (outcome of the) game is no factor in anything at all," said Terrell.

Through three games this season, Terrell had 13 catches for 156 yards with four returns for 47 yards.

As a junior, Terrell had 49 catches for 822 yards and seven touchdowns. He also took five returns, three on punts, two on kickoffs, to the house.
