NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Six

THE GHOST—aka Jerome Harrison—proved he was ready for primetime on Monday night. Although touching the ball just four times—including a highlight reel 33 yard run—Harrison netted 67 yards; big play contributions to the Browns' upset of the defending world champs, the New York Giants.

Here's how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week six:

Hamza Abdullah, S, Cleveland, 4th season : Declared inactive for the Browns' Monday night upset of the New York Giants.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, rookie: Posted two tackle in Vikings' win against hapless Detroit.

Alex Brink, QB, Houston, rookie: Did not play; signed to the Texans practice squad last week.

Mkristo Bruce, DE, Jacksonville, 2nd season: Did not play; assigned to practice squad.

Michael Bumpus, WR, Seattle, rookie: No recorded stats from Hawks' fall to Green Bay.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 5th season : The Spokane native posted three tackles and assisted on another—including a crucial fourth quarter goal line stand—in the Falcs' dramatic victory against Chicago.

Jed Collins, FB, Philidelphia, rookie: Did not play; assigned to practice squad.

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 5th season : Did not play; bye week.

Jason David, CB, New Orleans, 5th season: Posted two solo stops, defended two passes, and returned an interception 18 yards during Saints' defeat of Oakland. Maybe this will quiet the classless ‘aints fans a bit.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 2nd season : No stats from Vikes' defeat of Detroit.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 17th season : Was true on one field goal (40 yards) and one extra-point attempt in the winless Lions' fall to Minnesota. He now needs just 14 points to pass Jan Stenerud for ninth place on the NFL's all-time scoring list.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 3rd season : The Ghost gave a Monday Night Football audience a taste of what Cougar and Cleveland fans already knew: good things happen when he touches the ball. Harrison carried the ball twice for 41 yards and caught 2 more for another 26 in the Browns' upset of the Giants.

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 2nd season: The gunner assisted on one special teams tackle in the 49ers loss to Philly.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 9th season : Did not play; bye week.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 9th season: Did not play; declared inactive due to MCL strain suffered in week five. It was the first game he has missed since 2004.

Karl Paymah, CB, Denver, 4th season : No stats from Broncs' loss to Jacksonville.

Ropati Pitoitua, DT, New York Jets, rookie: Did not play; assigned to practice squad.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 6th season : Tallied eight solo tackles and one assist in loss to the Packers. Tackle total aside, it was Tru's poorest outing in some time.
