NFL Cougar Highlights: Week 10

COUGREAT ERIK COLEMAN contributed mightily to keeping his Falcons firmly in the playoff hunt, while two of the greatest Washington State offensive juggernauts of all time—Jerome Harrison and Jason Hill—shone in prime time's bright lights, albeit in losing efforts.

Here's how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week ten:

Hamza Abdullah, S, Cleveland, 4th season :Declared inactive for Browns' Thursday night loss to Denver.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, rookie: Recorded two solo tackles in Vikings' defeat of Green Bay.

Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Kansas City, 2nd season:Released by the club last week after having just been signed five days prior, despite posting 5 solo tackles, assisting on another, and forcing a fumble in Chiefs' overtime loss to Tampa Bay in week 9.

Alex Brink, QB, Houston, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Texans' practice squad.

Mkristo Bruce, DE, Jacksonville, 2nd season: Did not play; assigned to the Jaguars' practice squad.

Michael Bumpus, WR, Seattle, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Seahawks' practice squad.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 5th season : For the second straight week, the Pride of Lewis & Clark High School recorded an interception--his third pick of the year—returning it 32 yards. He also led the Falcs in tackles with 9 (6 solo) and forced a fumble in their defeat of New Orleans. Leads Atlanta in solo tackles and interceptions.

Jed Collins, FB, Chicago, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Bears practice squad..

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 5th season : No catches, no special teams tackles, and no starting job in Chiefs' loss to San Diego.

Jason David, CB, New Orleans, 5th season: Declared inactive for Saints' fall to Atlanta.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 2nd season : No recorded stats from the Vikings' win against Green Bay. Coming into the weekend, he was tied for the teams' lead in special teams tackles with fellow Coug Husain Abdullah at 11.

Cogdill's 1962 Topps football card

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 17th season : Had his only field goal attempt blocked, but connected on both extra points in loss to Jacksonville. Was honored at halftime--along with Cougar great Gail Cogdill--as a member of the Lions 75th anniversary team.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 3rd season : Rushed the ball five times for 48 yards and caught a pass for another 9 in the Browns' fall to Denver. The Ghost gains an average of over 9 yards every time he touches the ball. So why just 23 touches all season?!

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 2nd season: Led the 49ers with seven catches for 84 yards in San Fran's Monday night heartbreaker to Arizona.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 9th season : Was true on a 25 yard field goal attempt and one extra point in loss to New England.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 9th season: Tallied four solo tackles—including a sack—and assisted on another in Jags' crush of Detroit.

Karl Paymah, CB, Denver, 4th season : Recorded five tackles and 1 assist in Bronc' Thursday win against Cleveland. Paymah is persona non grata with the NFL Cougar Highlights crew for his recent "I don't claim them anymore" comment on his struggling alma mater.

Ropati Pitoitua, DT, New York Jets, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Jets' practice squad.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 6th season : Notched five solo stops in loss to Miami.
