Cougar verbal eyes other trips

WIDE RECEIVER Gino Simone, who verbally committed to Washington State back in August, said Thursday night he will take other official visits. "I told coach Wulff it's not me decommitting in any way,"said Simone. "It's more having an opportunity to kinda look at other schools."

Simone had originally planned to take his official visit to WSU on Dec. 12 first before deciding on if he would take additional visits. But he said after talking things over with his parents, the decision was made to go ahead and start making some alternate plans now.

"It's something my family and I had a long talk about, and kinda what came out of that was this would be the best decision for me right now," said Simone.

Simone said Wulff told him Thursday night he still expects Simone to sign with Washington State when Letters of Intent are signed in February.

"He said that things are going to change at WSU and he expects me to be a part of it. And he said that this class they're bringing in is going to be a really solid class and is something to build off of," said Simone.

Simone said he hadn't spoken with Oregon State and Boise State yet but those two were schools he planned on setting up trips with in the coming weeks.

"It's just kind of an opportunity to make sure the things I feel about Wazzu are real valid," said Simone.
