NFL Cougar Highlights: Week 14

A PAIR OF legendary Cougar Jasons are making the most of their playing time in the waning weeks of the 2008 NFL season. New Orleans cornerback Jason David is averaging an interception per start for the Saints, while 49ers receiver Jason Hill is a featured performer of the new look San Francisco squad.

Here's how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week 14:

Hamza Abdullah, S, Cleveland, 4th season : Declared inactive for Browns' latest loss.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, rookie: Assisted on one tackle in Vikings win against Detroit.

Alex Brink, QB, Houston, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Texans' practice squad.

Mkristo Bruce, DE, Jacksonville, 2nd season: Signed by the Jags to their active roster on Thursday. He'd been assigned to their practice squad for the entire season. Declared inactive for Sunday's game.

Michael Bumpus, WR, Seattle, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Seahawks' practice squad.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 5th season : Despite not practicing much of the week with a bum quad, the Spokane native tallied four solo tackles in Falcs' fall to New Orleans.

Jed Collins, TE/FB, Cleveland, rookie: Dressed but recorded no stats in Cleveland's loss to the Titans.

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 5th season : No recorded stats from Chiefs' loss to Denver.

Jason David, CB, New Orleans, 5th season: His interception—and 23 yard return—led to the Saints first touchdown in their eventual victory over Atlanta. He also posted one solo stop and assisted on another. David now has three interceptions in 3 games since returning to a starting role, and 4 total air thefts on the year.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 2nd season : Assisted on one tackle in Vikings' defeat of Detroit.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 17th season : Was true on three field goal (long of 39 yards) and one extra point attempts in Lions' fall to Minnesota. The Spokane native has connected on 19 of 20 field goal attempts this season; his lone miss being a blocked kick.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 3rd season : Rushed the ball twice for two yards and caught 2 passes for another 6 in Browns' loss to Tennessee. Suffered a rib injury in the third quarter, the severity of which is unknown.

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 2nd season: Caught four passes for 39 yards, including a key third down grab in 49ers' defeat of the Jets. Fumbled at the goal line, but the ball was recovered by San Fran for a touchdown. Hill now has 22 catches on the season. I regret ever doubting Mike Singletary's ability as a head coach in the NFL.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 9th season : His 40 yard field goal was the Bills only score of the game and the Vancouver native's 200th three-pointer of his career.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 9th season: Notched one solo tackle in Jags' loss to Chicago.

Karl Paymah, CB, Denver, 4th season : Posted one solo stop in Bronco victory against Kansas City.

Ropati Pitoitua, DT, New York Jets, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Jets' practice squad.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 6th season : Tallied four solo stops and one assist in Hawks' loss to New England. The Tacoma native held Patriot receiver Randy Moss in check most of the day, limiting him to just three catches.

Cory Withrow, C, St. Louis, 10th season : Declared inactive for Rams' loss to Arizona.
