Fleet WR makes Levy connection on WSU trip

POSITIONS OF NEED for Washington State this class exist across the board but one key area Paul Wulff mentioned post-season was at the wide receiver spot. And the one thing that they haven't figured out how to coach yet is speed. A junior college receiver with a blazing 40 time was in Pullman this past weekend on his official visit. He says the Cougars and the students surprised him.

WR Josh Bellamy, (6-2, 197)
Oroville, CA; Butte College

Gut reaction on WSU official visit:
"It was cool, I liked it a lot. We went to the basketball game and their fans are crazy. Their fans all about the school and all about the sports," said Bellamy.

Connecting with receivers coach Mike Levenseller:
"The coaches were all cool and I liked my position coach, the wide receivers coach, coach Levy, I like him a lot," said Bellamy.

Breaking down film with Levenseller:
"We sat down and watched my tape and he was coaching me on my highlight tape, things I could improve on...He knows what he's talking about," said Bellamy Wazzu's interest:
"They like my speed, the way I catch the ball and just my ability to make plays. They need a big playmaker and I.. can bring that to the table," said Bellamy.

The 40 time of 4.41 listed on his page:
"It's a 4.38, I ran a 4.38. But I don't know if that's a consistent 4.38, you know?" said Bellamy.

Exceeding expectations:
"We've been talking, me and coach (Jody) Sears, I'll talk to him on the phone and we set up the visit...and I didn't think it was going to be that great. I had went to Idaho and Idaho was nothing (like WSU). When I went to Wazzu, it was like, 'Hey, check out Wazzu!' I liked it a lot," said Bellamy.

Importance of playing time:
"I'm trying to find the best place for me, the place where I can play right away, and coach (Paul) Wulff, he told me I can come in and maybe start right away, come in and just play," said Bellamy.

Who do you have offers from?
"I haven't talked (recently) to Arizona but I had Wazzu, Arizona, Idaho, Marshall, Boise State, South Florida...and Wyoming just called me...they want me to come this weekend, I might take (the visit), I might not, I don't know," said Bellamy.

It might it go all the way to Signing Day:
"I'm going to talk it over with my mom, my family, pray about it and see what schools fits me best -- take it down to the last week and see who comes out on top," said Bellamy.
