WASHINGTON STATE was as cold as day-old poorage in the first half but turned up the heat -- at both ends of the court -- in the second and cruised to a 69-53 victory Thursday against Arizona. The Cougars' spirited resurgance in the final 20 minutes brought the amped Friel Court crowd to a fever pitch.

Taylor Rochestie scored 17 points, Klay Thompson 16 and Caleb Forrest 15 to leads the Cougar onslaught. WSU inaugurated the second half with a 21-6 run that overcame a 29-26 halftime deficit.

The Cougars are now 15-13 overal and 7-9 in Pac-10 play, with ASU coming to town for a televised showdown Saturday at 2 pm. will be back later with TV highlights and interviews.
