Selby says he's a Coug

"I decided last night that I'm going to Washington State," Castle Rock ATH Scott Selby told Thursday afternoon. "I want to play in the Pac-10 and the big-game atmosphere. Hopefully I can come in and make an impact." The 6-5, 214-pound Selby is being recruited as a TE by the Cougars. Besides WSU, Idaho and Nevada offered Scott full scholarships.

There's one more player to be dealt with, however, before things become 100 percent settled for Selby. "Stanford's been my number one choice forever," Scott said. "At first, I didn't have a high enough SAT score, but my ACT came in a lot higher, so they started talking to me again. They told me if I did get accepted, it would be a late decision for them."

And if the Cardinal did eventually offer? "Well, it would have to be something pretty big," Scott said. "I'm committed to Washington State." Selby tripped to Nevada last weekend and has a visit to Pullman scheduled for the weekend of the 24th.

Scott has been asked to greyshirt by Washington State. He has the choice of enrolling this coming fall with a minimum of credits to keep his eligibiliy intact, or wait until the following January to enroll full-time under scholarship. "I don't know what I'm going to do, to be honest," he said. "Right now, I could go either way. We'll see."
