"I committed to Arizona State today," Burgess told Chris Fetters of the Insiders.com. "I liked the place and the players and it reminded me a lot of home. It's close to home too, so I took that into consideration."
Emmanuel Franklin was Rudy's host. "Manny told me that I'll be putting in a lot of hard work but that I can see time on the field right away if I'm ready. He was real nice. I enjoyed hanging out with him."
The Devils see the diminutive Burgess as the next Shaun McDonald. "The coaches think I can come in and be a real difference maker, and with Shaun McDonald leaving they want me to be that small receiver that can come in and make plays."
Before this visit Rudy was considered a soft verbal to Washington State.
"I haven't told their coaches yet," he said. "It was a really hard decision for me to make, but I'm going to Arizona State."
